This week in Astro News:
A reader wrote to Jonathan a few days ago to say that she had been looking
forward to feeling the good effects of Jupiter in Leo, but that she had read
elsewhere that since her birthday was late in the sign – today, August 16 –
she wouldn’t feel the benefit until the middle of next year, and was now
disappointed. Well, I’m not sure we should reward such obvious disloyalty to
the world’s finest team of astrologers – this one – but Happy Birthday
anyway, Zella, and here’s your answer.
It’s true that Jupiter won’t reach that exact degree of Leo until next
summer, but that’s only part of the story. As long as a planet is in the
sign, then any part of your own chart which is in that sign will start to
resonate with it, and the effect will become more intense as the planet gets
closer to the exact degree. It’s like getting ‘warmer’ or ‘cooler’ when
looking for a hidden object – and Jupiter will be ‘very warm’ in November
and December this year, as well as during next summer.
There’s more. Mercury and Venus are never far from the sun, so as well as
having the sun in Leo, there’s a good chance that you have Mercury or Venus
there as well, and of course Jupiter in Leo will affect them too. And no
matter what sign you are, if you’re 23, 35, 47 or 59 years old (go up in
twelves) then you were probably born with Jupiter in Leo too. Or Saturn, if
you are in your mid-20s or mid-50s. Or Uranus, if you’re in your early 40s.
Or Pluto, if you’re between 45 and 62. The point being that because of where
the outer planets were in the second half of the twentieth century, almost
all of us were born with something in Leo, spread over every part of the sign
– and Jupiter is going to bring us all something good, somehow, as he passes
through the sign. We are all ‘tuned in’ to him now that he has entered Leo,
and we won’t have to wait until next summer before we feel the benefit.
You’ll have noticed that there are some gaps in the age ranges I’ve just
mentioned. People older than 40 have almost all got at least one planet in
Leo, but people in their early or late 30s, unless born in July or August,
probably haven’t. This is what the generation gap is all about. What counts
is not age or ability, but the view the outer planets give us.

Research into Astrology and Infertility by Pat Harris, MSc., D.F.Astrol.S.
I would like to thank everyone who has responded to my earlier notices on Jonathan's website and who volunteered to take part in the research that I am conducting as part of my PhD in astrology and health psychology at Southampton University, UK. I now have quite a number of people taking part which will help me in conducting my study into factors that may or may not correlate with fertility treatment outcome. I should have a progress report out soon. However, I am still looking for women who are currently pregnant - not necessarily as a result of fertility treatment - and who would like to contact me about details of my research to see if they would like to take part. My email address is: pharris@interalpha.co.uk
