The last of the ‘winter giants’ turns to go forward this week, as Uranus
comes to the end of his backward phase in Aquarius, and starts to press on
once more. All the big planets move through the signs like this, two steps
forward and one step back, but what makes this one interesting is that this
time, as Uranus swings forward, he will go right off the end of Aquarius and
into Pisces. Which makes this week the start of the run-up to a new era, if
you like, even though the actual entry into Pisces isn’t until the start of
next year.
This has interesting implications. Uranus’s movement through the signs has
been shown to correspond quite neatly with the eras of popular culture - the
rock ’n’ roll era, hippies, yuppies and so on. We have been in the present
one since 1995, and it’s time for a change. What it will involve is something
we can only guess at, but it does mean that, as of now, we’re in the
winding-up phase of the Uranus-in-Aquarius era, and getting ready for
something new. If you’ve been nurturing personal plans or ambitions, but so
far haven’t managed to do anything definite about them, then you’ve got
about six months to make something happen, or you’ll find that the moment has
gone and that everyone has moved on into something else.
Uranus is the planet of surprises, so this week, as he makes his presence
felt, we should see several unexpected political initiatives. But will they
be attention-grabbing last-chance efforts from the era that’s now ending, or
slightly premature attempts at moving into the new age? Either way, like
cheap fireworks, they’re likely to take off with much noise and flame, but
then falter, go out, and fall quietly back to earth.
Psychologists keep telling us to get to know our inner selves, to face our
anger, and so on. This week you can do just that, by having a face-to-face
confrontation with Mars, the planet of passion and anger. If you’re up before
sunrise tomorrow, look up at the skies, find the moon, and a little below it
will be a pinky-red point of light: Mars. Go on, vent your anger at him.
You’ll feel so much better.

Research into Astrology and Infertility by Pat Harris, MSc., D.F.Astrol.S.
I would like to thank everyone who has responded to my earlier notices on Jonathan's website and who volunteered to take part in the research that I am conducting as part of my PhD in astrology and health psychology at Southampton University, UK. I now have quite a number of people taking part which will help me in conducting my study into factors that may or may not correlate with fertility treatment outcome. I should have a progress report out soon. However, I am still looking for women who are currently pregnant - not necessarily as a result of fertility treatment - and who would like to contact me about details of my research to see if they would like to take part. My email address is: pharris@interalpha.co.uk
