A week or two ago I mentioned that most of the outer planets were all at
helpful angles to each other, and that we were therefore in good times. This
week one of those alignments, between Jupiter and Pluto, is exact, and you
can see Jupiter every morning, if the skies are clear. If you’re up at seven
or earlier, while it’s still dark, look south and you’ll see Jupiter blazing
away, easily the brightest thing in the sky. If you’re not sure which one he
is, then have a look on Tuesday, when the Moon is next to him to make
identification easier.
Jupiter and Pluto have a marvellous potential for good - but when things go
wrong they go wrong big time. It’s a sort of win-or-bust combination, so if
politicians announce big new initiatives in the next few days we should all
keep our fingers crossed and hope that it’s win rather than bust.
There’s more. Pluto is in Jupiter’s sign, Sagittarius, while Jupiter is in
Leo, where Pluto has extra power. This sort of reciprocal arrangement raises
the stakes – and, unfortunately, gives Pluto the edge, which means that when
a final decision has to be made, money (Pluto) will be a more persuasive
argument than virtue and high principle (Jupiter). I fear, therefore, that
the politicians will choose profit over principle, and waste this
opportunity. It was ever thus – but in our own lives, as long as we are aware
of the pitfalls, we can still choose Jupiter over Pluto and make our lives
better. The planets, as ever, are impartial: the choice is entirely our own.
It’s Hallowe’en next Thursday, and these days it seems to be sexy rather
than scary, with wannabe Goths and vampires out partying in droves. This
year, though, Venus and the Sun are together on the day – a potent pairing –
in sexy Scorpio, and that little blabbermouth Mercury is in the sign as well.
So be careful, in case you reveal more than you intend.

Research into Astrology and Infertility by Pat Harris, MSc., D.F.Astrol.S.
I would like to thank everyone who has responded to my earlier notices on Jonathan's website and who volunteered to take part in the research that I am conducting as part of my PhD in astrology and health psychology at Southampton University, UK. I now have quite a number of people taking part which will help me in conducting my study into factors that may or may not correlate with fertility treatment outcome. I should have a progress report out soon. However, I am still looking for women who are currently pregnant - not necessarily as a result of fertility treatment - and who would like to contact me about details of my research to see if they would like to take part. My email address is: pharris@interalpha.co.uk
