PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

October 19 2026 to October 25 2026

Monday October 19

Today is National Evaluate Your Life Day. Eek! But before we start compiling lists of everything we should be doing differently, it's worth remembering that evaluation isn't the same as criticism. It's about noticing what we'd like to change. And the timing couldn't be better. Pluto, now in forward motion in Aquarius, encourages us to look towards the future rather than dwell on the past. We don't need to reinvent ourselves. Small adjustments can set inspiring processes of change in motion.

Tuesday October 20

When the Sydney Opera House opened in 1973, its extraordinary design was unlike anything the world had ever seen. Today, it's difficult to imagine Sydney without those famous white sails. As retrograde Venus (beauty and values) squares forward-moving Pluto, we're reminded that unfamiliar ideas don't always receive an enthusiastic welcome. Sometimes we need time to appreciate what challenges our expectations. What unsettles you today could hold the key to a life-improving idea.

Wednesday October 21

In 1879, Thomas Edison successfully tested an electric light bulb. And although electric lighting didn't replace oil lamps and candles overnight, the way people experienced darkness started to change. Although we might not revolutionise the world today, we can switch on a metaphorical light bulb. Situations that have been difficult to understand become clearer when we view them differently. Sometimes, illuminating one small corner is enough to reveal the way forward.

Thursday October 22

When Andre-Jacques Garnerin made the first successful parachute jump (in 1797!), it must have taken extraordinary courage. As the Sun prepares to move into Scorpio, the skies encourage us to follow his example - metaphorically, of course! If you're holding onto something because releasing your grip feels risky, letting go might be exactly what enables you to move forwards. Today isn't about making dramatic leaps. But loosening hold of a worry could lead to a surprisingly soft landing.

Friday October 23

As the Sun glides into Scorpio, the weekend arrives with an invitation to look beneath the surface. Which doesn't mean we need to spend it analysing every conversation or searching for hidden meanings! Sometimes depth comes from giving our full attention to simple experiences; a proper conversation; time doing something we love. With Mercury turning retrograde, by noticing what genuinely matters, we'll rediscover enthusiasm for something we've been taking for granted.

Saturday October 24

Your Weekly Horoscope

When we look back, we don't always see things the same way; experience changes our perspective. Which means old ideas or decisions have the potential to reveal something new. This week, with Mercury retrograde in Scorpio, there's lots to be gained by revisiting issues we thought we'd understood. But with the Taurus Full Moon shining on what's working in the here and now, reflection doesn't mean getting stuck in the past. We can use our experience to make adjustments that improve our lives.
